Seated in the hush of Quiet Mon on Saint John in the USVI, my gaze fell upon a sign, affirming I was exactly where I belonged. Island life, while not without challenges, exudes simplicity—a realm where time gracefully decelerates, almost freezing. Here, the sun's warmth, the gentle breeze, and the myriad shades of blue in the water become treasures to be savored. It's a space where life's pace allows for genuine appreciation, offering a sanctuary to relish the serene moments. In the midst of the island's tranquil embrace, one discovers a profound beauty in the uncomplicated and a respite from the complexities of the world.

The Quiet Mon Pub is closing in December 2023 because the new owner of the building doubled the rent. When I read this, I felt a piece of my heart close with it.  A place I will forever remember and miss.
